Two years ago, there were only 44 members of South Lake Elks Lodge #1848. Since then membership has soared to over 200.
In conjunction with the Elks 150th Anniversary as a benevolent organization, South Lake Lodge #1848 held its grand opening on Saturday, February 17. Elks proudly showed off their recently purchased and renovated building at 649 12th Street in Clermont (formerly the Rusty Fox).
This event was opened to the public to provide an opportunity to visit and learn about the Elks’ involvement in civic and community projects.
The open house was so successful that an additional 44 applications for membership were received.
