On Sunday, March 11 at 2 am Daylight Saving Time Begins.

Florida Lawmakers recently passed the Sunshine Protection Act which, if approved by the federal government, the people of Florida will observe daylight saving time year-round. No one in sunny Florida will need to remember to spring ahead or fall back.

The federal government approves the country’s time zones as well as the start and end dates of daylight saving time.  States such as Arizona and Hawaii can choose to exempt themselves from daylight saving time, but nothing in Federal law allows states to exempt themselves from standard time.

With the exception of Arizona, Hawaii and territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Island, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Island, everyone living in the United States will lose an hour sleep as daylight saving time begins.

So for tomorrow, remember to spring ahead at 2 am. If you are lucky, sleep in.
