Residents from Orchard Heights recently had the opportunity to tour the six buildings in Clermont’s Historic Village. They are among the increasing number of groups who are choosing to request tours at times when the Village when is not regularly scheduled to be open. Volunteer members of the South Lake County Historical Society were on hand to take the residents into the six buildings. Even those on walkers were able to enter most structures and were given detailed information about the two homes with outside stairs.
The Village, a unique partnership between the City of Clermont and the Historical Society designed to inform visitors about life in Lake County from the late 1800’s until post World War II, is open every Friday from 1 pm to 3 pm and every Saturday & Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm. Admission to the Village is free, however, a donation of $2.00 per adult is requested. If you would like to tour the Village with a group at a time when the Village is not regularly scheduled to be open like these Orchard Heights residents, call and leave a message for the Village Manager, Roxanne Brown, at 352-593-8496 and she will get with you to make arrangements.
