Every Saturday parkrun begins and ends at the Hiawatha Preserve on Lake Minneola. The event is free. The only person you are competing against YOU (your own personal best).

It was a beautiful morning to take a couple of laps around Lake Hiawatha Preserve for 95 participants in Saturday morning’s 5K parkrun event.  Six runners completed the course with new personal bests.

Finishing first was Windermere teen Mason Taylor, who had over a minute on the rest of the field, completing the circuit in 18:17.  In second, and visiting from Scotland, was Kevin Downie with a time of 19:24. Rounding out the top three was local runner Brad Argentine who crossed the line in 20:37.

The women were led by Alexis Hill, a local teen who came in at 23:07.  Alexis has run over 50 times at Clermont.  In second place and making her debut at Clermont was Hanako Goetz with a time of 24:14.  Third place went to Australian Karyn Queen, who was also making her first run in Clermont, finishing with a time of 24:32.

Volunteers make parkrun a free event every Saturday morning for all participants.  We would like to thank those who stepped up to help out this week: Rissie Thieler, Claudena Coulter, Daniel Whitehouse, Shelly Linder, Dottie Harding • Amanda Furrow, Anne Beninghof, Libby Brouwer, Lynnea Weissman and Jim Pickering
