Five local graduating High School students have been recognized as recipients of a Caribbean American Associations of Lake County (CAALC) college scholarship.
The recipients are:
- Terrece Bell, South Lake High School;
- Simone Sharrieff, Lake Minneola High;
- Ndidimaka Udokuwu, South Lake High School;
- Megan Hand, Lake Minneola High School; and
- Clintonae Thomas, East Ridge High School
The annual Caribbean Jerk Festival is the major annual fundraiser to provide college scholarships for the young people in the community.
The annual Caribbean Jerk Festival showcases Caribbean cultures and foods from the diverse countries of the Caribbean.
