How do you remember someone special after they are gone? What do you get for the man who has everything? These two different yet similar questions can be easily answered by purchasing a memorial brick from the South Lake County Historical Society. Conveniently located just a few blocks from Clermont’s historic downtown shopping district and, the soon to be completed, Victory Point; the Historic Village can be the perfect place to honor a loved one. The circular walkway between the Kern House, the schoolhouse and the Cooper Memorial Library where the bricks are laid is the ideal spot for observing Clermont’s newest attraction.
Ordering a brick is very easy. Simply come by the Village any Saturday or Sunday between 1 pm and 4 pm when it is scheduled to be open and speak with either the Village Manager, Roxanne Brown or the Historical Society President, Jim Briggs. They can give you an order form which you fill out with the phrase you want to be engraved. You can even return your form that day and, before you know it, your brick will be on display. If you cannot come by the Village, just call 352-593-8496, leave a message, and a form will be sent to you. The cost of a brick is only $50.00.
