On June 7th, the Orlando Cat Café proudly announced their new partnership with SPCA Florida, a highly regarded 501(c)3 non-profit animal welfare organization headquartered in Lakeland, Florida. More than 130 guests came and went throughout the day-long welcoming celebration at the cat café. Patrons brought donations for SPCA Florida including scoopable cat litter and cat food while enjoying cake, raffles prizes and of course, mingling with cats and kittens!

Welcome to the Cat Cafe

“We are very excited to have SPCA Florida as our new adoption partner,” stated Sandra Cagan, Orlando Cat Café owner. “The collaboration between our organizations is a win-win arrangement for adoptable cats and we are proud to be part of the SPCA Florida mission of finding new homes for cats in our community.”

The Orlando Cat Café is both a cozy coffeehouse with comfortable furniture, premium coffee, tea and pastries, and 12 to 15 cats roaming freely in the spacious 1,000 square foot Cat Play Area/Adoption Area. For a small entry fee, guests can enter and bring their beverage and food and cuddle with felines, or patrons can grab their coffee and go while watching the cats through the large viewing window. The cat café has a separate entrance to comply with health and food safety compliance guidelines.

The Orlando Cat Café opened as the first cat café in Florida in September 2016 and has

found new homes for more than 215 cats and has brought visitors from all parts of the world. Several out-of-state pet adoptions have also occurred when visitors fell in love with a cat while visiting and resulted in driving or flying back with a new member of the family. Founded in 1979, SPCA Florida is dedicated to improving the lives of pets and people in the community, while providing care, compassion and hope to more than 6,000 homeless animals entering their doors each year with thousands more pets and people being served through their community outreach and education programs.

Adoption fees for the SPCA Florida felines at the Orlando Cat Café are $100 and include spaying/neutering, testing for feline leukemia and feline aids, receiving core vaccinations for feline distemper and rabies (if age appropriate), monthly flea prevention and a microchip.
