Clermont Fire Chief Carle Bishop announced the recent promotion of Jennifer Pierce to the position of fire marshal.
The fire marshal oversees the fire prevention division, which includes the review of plans for fire protection and life safety, fire inspections, fire investigations and the coordination of community relations in addition to public education.
Pierce has 14 years’ experience in fire services, and she helped the department achieve its international accreditation. She comes from a family of firefighters. Her father is a retired fire chief from Banks County, Georgia, and her husband is a lieutenant in the Reedy Creek Fire Department.
Pierce is a member of the Florida Fire Marshals and Inspectors Association, the Florida Fire Chiefs Association, the International Association of Arson Investigators and the International Association of Fire Marshals.
Pierce currently serves as the education chair for the Florida Fire Sprinkler Coalition and recently was featured in a public-service feature advocating for sprinklers in the home.
Congratulation Fire Marshal Pierce!
