Clermont parkrunners started off the month of December the only way a
runner would: with a 5k. The holiday season is always a favorite month
for runners, joggers, and walkers in Florida. Temperatures are ideal,
spirits are high, and there are lots of Christmas cookies to work up an
appetite for! This week 101 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of
whom 13 were first timers and 17 recorded new Personal Bests.
Representatives of 9 different clubs took part.
Junior Ryan Benn led the overall male finishers this weekend with a new
parkrun PB of 19:28. Rick Light and Cooper Krug finished second and
third with times of 19:49 and 20:27, respectively.
Another junior, Alexis Hill, also led the female podium with a time of
23:39. She was followed by her sister Mackenzie Hill in 24:14. Third
place was Lori Walters in 26:03.
Visitor Mike Addinell completed his 100th parkrun here in Clermont,
congratulations Mike! Colm Kelly run his 50th parkrun this weekend too.

The female record is held by Kate BAZELEY who recorded a time of 17:17
on 20th February 2016 (event number 124), and by Ani VELTCHEVA who also
recorded a time of 17:17 on 18th March 2017 (event number 173).
The male record is held by Ollie GARROD who recorded a time of 15:39 on
18th August 2018 (event number 245).
The Age Grade course record is held by Ani VELTCHEVA who recorded
94.21% (17:17) on 18th March 2017 (event number 173).
Clermont Waterfront parkrun started on 27th April 2013. Since then 7,015
participants have completed 21,881 parkruns covering a total distance of
109,405 km, including 3,490 new Personal Bests. A total of 319
individuals have volunteered 2,305 times.
