Wendy’s held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, February 12, on its new Groveland restaurant. With revitalized decor, comfortable seating and other amenities, customers will enjoy a stunning new Wendy’s® experience when they visit the new restaurant at 7549 SR-50, expected to open in late May 2019.
The restaurant plans to feature an innovative interior and exterior design, which is part of an ongoing effort to provide an enhanced customer experience — from the high-quality food to the restaurant environment.
“This restaurant will have bold curb appeal and features a compelling design—inside and out,” said Joe Godbey, CEO Gold Coast Holdings Restaurants. “It’s very different from what our customers are used to, and we think they’ll really like the fresh look and feel of the new Wendy’s.”
Groveland Mayor Evelyn Wilson said the community was eager for the new restaurant, adding, “There has been a tremendous buzz about Wendy’s coming to town.”
Vice Mayor Mike Radzik said he had been encouraging Wendy’s to come to the city. “We know that dining out, especially at these modern, casual dining restaurants, is high on our residents’ wish lists,” Radzik said.
The interior design will showcase open, bright dining areas with multiple seating options, including private booths, cozy seating and a Wi-Fi bar. The new design will incorporate the latest in touchscreen kiosk ordering technology for customers and a Coca-Cola® Freestyle® beverage dispenser that allows customers to customize over 100 regular and low-calorie beverages, including a variety of branded waters, sports drinks, lemonades and sparkling beverages.
“We are thrilled to be coming to Groveland. The ultimate goal is for our customers to have the best dining experience, and we think they will be surprised and excited about their new Wendy’s,” Godbey said.
The location is at the intersection that includes 30,000 vehicles a day on State Road 50 and the main exit from South Lake High School as well as several subdivisions.
