The festival is an event of Project Scholars, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which provides educational scholarships and support to local students.
Project Scholars Scholarship
The Project Scholars scholarship program seeks to identify and assist dedicated and deserving students that wish to obtain a baccalaureate degree at a college or university. The scholarship program provides financial support for the entire undergraduate process.
Every year, four $10,000 scholarships are awarded to students in South Lake County who demonstrated a need for financial assistance, outstanding community service, and academic performance.
Mentors can play a pivotal role in a student’s life and provide wisdom, teaching, and support. Every scholarship recipient is paired with a leader in their field of interest or trusted adviser
BUILDING A LEGACY
In 2013, Project Scholars created a fund capable of providing our current level of support into perpetuity. Once achieved, Project Scholars will increase its scholarship size and the number of benefitting students until every deserving student with a need has a way to achieve the education they deserve.
Pig On The Pond: It’s great to have a festival that is so popular, so much fun, and, most importantly, gives the community an invaluable payback: College Scholarships.
