At a recent conference of the Leesburg Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints new leaders were called to oversee and serve members of the Church in this area.
President Michael Earl Saunders has been called to serve the nearly 4,800 members in nine congregations of the Church in this area. Assisting President Saunders with his responsibilities are K. Bret Bullinger and Justin Boulter. These leadership changes were made under the direction of the First Presidency of the Church by visiting authorities, Elder Jack N. Gerard, and Elder Douglas Carter.
President Saunders of Apopka is a tax resource officer with Advent Health. He and his wife, Mary Ann, have seven children and three grandchildren. Speaking of his new responsibilities, Saunders said, “I am humbled and honored to be able to serve our Heavenly Father’s children in Citrus, Lake, Marion, Sumter and the northwest portion of Orange Counties. I look forward to seeing the growth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in this area as the area experiences growth. I hope that our members will continue to be a stabilizing force in the communities where they live as they focus on building strong, loving families and by following Jesus Christ’s example of serving others.”
First Counselor K. Bret Bullinger of Clermont works in the construction safety field. He and his wife, Bridget, have four children and twelve grandchildren. “My hope for this calling is to help members of the Leesburg Stake to come to know, depend on and love the Savior, Jesus Christ. I want them to increase in faith in His Atonement and demonstrate this faith by serving all who they encounter.”
Second Counselor Justin Boulter is the Recorder in the Orlando Florida Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Boulter and his wife, Christi, are the parents of seven children.
The previous President, W. Michael Ingalls of Mt. Dora along with his counselors, Derek Berge of Mount Dora, and Scott Jackson of Clermont, were released from their duties after eight years of service. President Ingalls with his wife, Roxanne, has been called to serve a three-year mission in the Mexico Chihuahua Mission.
The Leesburg Florida Stake was organized on November 5, 2005. There are nine congregations within the Stake located in Apopka, Eustis, Sorrento, Belleview, Lecanto, Sumterville, Leesburg, Clermont, and Minneola.
