Lake County Supervisor of Elections, Alan Hays, announces upcoming election worker information sessions.

If you have ever wondered what it takes to work on Election Day or during Early Voting, here is your opportunity to find out. The Lake County Supervisor of Elections Office will be hosting several information sessions over the next couple of months that outline the eligibility criteria, as well as an overview of what is expected of workers during an election season. These information sessions are the first step in the process of becoming an election worker.

There are two sessions scheduled at the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center, located at 3700 S. Highway 27 in Clermont. The dates and times for the Clermont sessions are as follows: Thursday, March 21st @ 6 pm and Friday, March 22nd @ 10 am. Next month, they will be hosting sessions at their office in Tavares, located at 1898 E. Burleigh Blvd. The dates and times for the sessions in Tavares are as follows: Friday, April 26th @ 10 am and 2 pm; and on Saturday, April 27th @ 10 am. Sessions last about an hour, and election worker applications may be completed at the end of the presentation. For more information about upcoming sessions, visit their website www.LakeVotes.com or sign up for a session via email at Brian@LakeVotes.com.

With ten Early Voting Sites open during each Early Voting period and over 100 precincts open on Election Day, it takes a full roster of workers to ensure adequate coverage at the polling sites each election cycle. “We are continuously recruiting qualified individuals to serve on Election Day and during Early Voting,” shared Hays. Becoming an election worker is an opportunity to show your civic pride and ensure voters have a positive election experience. If you are interested in becoming an election worker but are unable to attend one of the sessions, you may complete an interest form online at their website as well. Just click the election worker button on the home page and select: become an election worker and follow the prompts.
