Clermont-Minneola Lions recently had one of their best Sunday FARMER MARKET ever. Not only did they have a great response to the blood screening program with 20+ screenings, but they had record interest from folks inquiring about all the things Lions do in the community.

Lion Jeanne Von Dohre, a transfer from the Ocala Club, brought her experience and training to the Club to re-establish this vital program offered to the public free of charge.  Moreover, brooms made by the blind were sold and folks dropped off used eyeglasses for the Club to recycle around the world. Many signed up for the shooting range that the Club operates as their major public fundraiser in Groveland, across from Tractor Supply, Rt 50 on the second, third and fourth Saturdays from 8 am-noon.

At a recent Club meeting, Nutritionist Dawn Sobierjski was a guest speaker discussing just how critical our health is impacted by what we eat.

Lion Asim Yassin of Guyana and his parents from South America visited and discussed the shake-up in Venezuela which has had a major impact on Lions in that region. His stories are very compelling.

The Club meets every second Thursday, 6:30 pm in the social hall of St. Matthias Episcopal Church, downtown Clermont at 574 Montrose Street.
