Many have never been in a Masonic Lodge though records show that the International fraternity has been active since the Middle Ages. Freemasonry is the oldest, largest Fraternity in the world. Its members have included Kings, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Statemen, Generals, Admirals, Supreme Court Justices, CEOs, performing artists and stars.
Clermont Masonic Lodge No 226 was founded over 100 years ago. The building is immersed in tradition, symbols, and rituals. The walls of the meeting room are lined with photos of its leaders, past and present; a formative group of men who have been identified for their leadership and involvement in the community.
Joining the Mason, the oldest fraternal brotherhood in existence, is a great way to make new friends and get involved in acts of charity and kindness. The Masons have contributed to causes such as children’s hospitals, providing treatment for childhood language disorders, treating eye diseases, funding medical research, contributing to local community service, and providing care to Masons and their families at Masonic Homes.
Clermont Masonic Lodge Number 226 was recently remodeled. The South Lake Chamber of Commerce held a “we noticed” celebration at the lodge, and the Masons were able to show off their building at 865 West DeSoto Street, Clermont. with a ribbon cutting celebrating the refreshed look.
