Aiden Hernandez, a graduating student from East Ridge High School, received a $2,000 Beta Theta Sisters Memorial Scholarship. He will be attending Lake Sumter State College.
Dalton Butler, also a graduate of East Ridge High was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Beta Theta.
Beta Theta, a chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha and a community service organization, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. For the past 15 years, the group has hosted its annual Mardi Gras-themed fundraiser with all proceeds given to local scholarships and charitable organizations throughout the south Lake Community. This year Beta Theta raised over $17,000 at the event.
