Tim Kelley, Senior Pastor of Grace Connection Church located in Saint Petersburg, addressed members of the Kiwanis Club of Clermont. He reflected on and shared with them the day his 20-year-old daughter was accidentally shot in the church and how he and his wife’s lives were changed forever.
In 2017, Pastor Tim opened a children’s home and he named it Hannah Grace Homes, dedicated to his daughter’s memory. Hannah Grace Homes is a state-licensed group home working within the foster care system and is located on Green Isle Drive in Groveland. It is designed to care for young children between the ages of 8-17.
Currently, thirty children between the age of 6-17 are residing at this facility. These facilities are staffed by a rotating staff of behavioral and medical staff who reside in each home. Hannah Grace Homes residents now include siblings whereas before it was designed to house children rescued from violence, neglect and abuse.
The facility provides safety, security, and love for its residents and receives State funding and donations from well-wishers. The residents receive regular doctor and dental visits, attend local schools and are transported by house parents. Additional academic assistance is coordinated through the school district. Each day ends with devotional time and residents attend church on weekends.
