Community leaders and business owners came together to lead nearly 100 BSA scouts at Family Christian Center in Merit Badges sharing expertise in their fields. The day was hosted by Scouts BSA Troop 998 girls, the only all-female BSA troop in Clermont and the first to charter in Lake County when Boy Scouts of America changed to Scouts BSA early 2019 and began excepting young women into its program.

Huge thanks go out to the following for volunteering your time for the leaders of our future. Sean Parks, Lake County Commissioner, taught Environmental Science; William Mathias Lake County School Board member and business owner taught Entrepreneurship; Captain Jason Pearson of Winter Garden Police Department and business owner taught Safety and Crime Prevention. Dr. Charles Pike of All Aspects Dentistry loaned out his office and staff to lead Dentistry while Tracey Rinehart of Lil’ Bit of Life Farm in Mount Dora leads about 25 scouts in Animal Science a breed-specific badge in about 10 categories. Mr. Clifford Cox of troop 210 in Winter Garden lead groups in Disability Awareness and American Labor. We would like to thank our sponsors for making this day happen; Family Christian Center (our charter) for allowing us the space to welcome in the scouts from all over Central Florida, Matthew Wheatly First Homes Realty; Kiwanas Club of Clermont; Modern Orthodontics, Clermont Taekwondo, Texas Road House, Chick-fil-A, Read to Sydney and Marcos Pizza.

Sponsors helped enhance the program and make it more exciting for the scouts who were buzzing when handed their SWAG bags filled with goodies.
