As of current forecasts, it seems that central Florida is luckily going to be spared the wrath of Hurricane Dorian. The only thing Florida runners are more used to than 100-degree weather is dealing with hurricanes like this. Dorian’s looming presence failed to impact participation at this weekend’s event, as Saturday’s run included 133 participants. There 45 were first timers 20 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 16 different clubs took part. Big congratulations to the part-time run director and devoted parkrun regular Jim Pickering who ran his 150th parkrun, along with Ben Vandenheever who hit 50.

Jeremey Arguelles topped the men’s podium this weekend with a time of 17:40. Fraser Armstrong also managed to dip under 18 with a time of 17:59. Marcus Lisman followed in a solid time of 18:11 to round out the top three.

Finishing first on the female side was first-timer and junior Emma Lorey in 19:54. Taylor Moler and Kyja Williams placed second and third with times of 22:13 and 22:35, respectively.
