This weekend, come walk or run in Downtown Clermont to support an important cause.

Clermont Police Department and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in Central Florida will host their annual Walk Like MADD fundraiser at the beautiful Victory Pointe, 938 Victory Way.

You’re invited to participate, with registration starting at 7 am and the event going from 8 am to 11 am September 14. Victims, survivors, and supporters will line up for this non-competitive 5K run/walk to remember lost loved ones, inspire change and commit to a nation with no more victims.

MADD is proud of the partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation’s Alert Today Florida program.

“Alert Today Florida is working hard to create a safer environment for all road users,” said Trenda McPherson, FDOT state program manager. “Unfortunately, many road users share an often-fatal preference, impairment. Partnering with MADD to prevent impaired driving, walking and biking across the state supports our goal of zero fatalities and assists MADD in their mission of a Nation of No More Victims.”

Funds raised through Walk like MADD help further MADD’s lifesaving mission and the Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving. For more information, contact Sgt. Debbie Reasoner at dreasoner@clermontfl.org or visit www.walklikemadd.org.

Among those who will be in attendance are victims of DUI crashes and their families, as well as Chief Charles Broadway of the Clermont Police Department. We look forward to seeing you there.
