It is time to mark your calendars for Clermont’s third annual Heritage Day Festival. This year the Clermont Historical Society is pleased to announce that, thanks to a generous donation from Toyota of Clermont, the musical entertainment will be provided by the October Mountain Washtub Band.

Come to the Historic Village, 490 West Avenue, Clermont any time between 10 am and 4 pm on Saturday, November 9th to take a step back in time. Learn about the tools used by Florida pioneers to build their homes and barns, see household chores demonstrated and even lend a hand, sample freshly churned butter, enjoy home-made ice cream, play old-fashioned games like jump rope & hopscotch, and much, much more. Lunch and snacks will be available for purchase.
All the buildings in the Historic Village will be open for tours with Historical Society members and friends on hand to share their knowledge and love of history with you. As usual, admission to the Historic Village is free but a donation of $3.00 per person is requested.
If you are interested in history in general or the history of South Lake County and Clermont in particular, consider joining the Clermont Historical Society. Annual dues is only $25.00 for an individual and $35.00 for a couple.
The next regularly scheduled meeting (meetings are held on the second Monday of every month) will be Monday, October 14. The board meeting starts at 6:00 pm and the membership meeting at 7:00 pm.
