Lake County Animal Services is excited to launch its new Sunday Morning Catinee, a matinee with cats!

The unique enrichment program invites volunteers and residents to enjoy a movie and popcorn in the shelter’s cat room, giving homeless cats a rare opportunity to experience a home-like environment. Viewers should be willing to pet adoptable cats during the film.

The first event on Sunday, December 1 will feature “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” followed by “Africa Screams.”  A different film will be featured on the first Sunday of each month, beginning at 10:30 am. Residents are welcome to bring their own beanbag or comfy chair, as seating is limited.

“We hope this new program will engage the community and enhance the lives of our homeless cats and kittens who crave affection, while also giving our residents a fun opportunity to establish a unique bond with our pets before adopting them,” said Whitney Boylston, Shelter Director.
