In the early hours of January 19, 2015, a fire consumed the American Legion Post 55, located at 1063 DeSoto Street, Clermont.  Luckily no one was injured, but the building was destroyed.

After years of waiting, American Legion Post 55 celebrated the opening of its new building, located on the original site.  The South Lake Chamber was there to host the ribbon-cutting.
