One student invented a “Collector Doodle” to help her little brother pick up his toys. Another created a device to help her decorate the Christmas tree faster. One boy explored how distractions affect work, while another studied whether a color blind person can find animals camouflaged in habitats faster than a person with normal color vision.
All of these projects and more were on display Tuesday night (Jan. 28, 2020) at the Elementary Awards Ceremony for the Lake County Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
Winning projects from students in grades 3 through 5 from schools across the district competed for top district honors.
“Best of Show” honors, including a large trophy and $50, went to Gracie Lively, third grade, Spring Creek Charter; Hayden Creech, fourth grade, Umatilla Elementary School; and Cameron Allen, fifth grade, Imagine South Lake Charter.
