Clinton Pownall of Computer Business Consultants presented the South Lake Chamber of Commerce Community Public Service Award to Deputy Sheriff Kesihia Rytter at the annual  Ambassador Breakfast on Friday, February 21.

Deputy Sheriff Rytter joined the Lake County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Unit near the end of the 2018-19 school year. Currently, she is assigned to East Ridge Middle School where she has become an instrumental member of the school staff and a favorite of the student body.

Deputy Sheriff Rytter goes out of her way to make lasting relationships with the students she serves. This school year she started a new project of encouraging both attendance and behavioral excellence. If at the end of each semester a student has perfect attendance and no disciplinary events, their names are placed into a drawing. One student from each grade level is then drawn and receives a Yeti style tumbler, personalized and designed by Deputy Sheriff Rytter and at her own expense.

Projects such as this highlight the dedication and commitment to our youth and the professional and caring nature of Deputy Sheriff Rytter. Lt. Michael Marden noted that she is a tremendous asset to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the School Resource Unit, and the community she serves.

Pownall presented Deputy Sheriff Rytter with her own personalized mug and she received a BIG round of applause from attendees.
