Business Spotlight Is On The Village Goldsmith

The Village Goldsmith was ready to celebrate its 26th Anniversary and also being chosen for the 4th consecutive year as “The Best Jewelry Store in South Lake County when along came Covid-19.

Betty, Jose, Matt, Monica and Jim chose to interrupt their on-going services on March 28th, just prior to the March 30th official mandate “requiring all non-essential businesses to close”. It was and remains their primary concern to protect the well being of their customers, friends and families.

Therefore, to keep South Lake County and all above mentioned safe, they have decided to err on the side of caution until Tuesday, May 26,  at 9:00 am.

Be assured they are as anxious as everyone else to reopen as soon as safely possible

Jim Johnson, the owner of  The Village Goldsmith, has dedicated a quarter of a century, and over a third of his lifetime, to the dream of providing South Lake County with the very best one-of-a-kind jewelry and goldsmith establishment.

Over Twenty-six years ago, on June 14, 1994, Jim opened The Village Goldsmith to the folks of south Lake County. Under the same oak tree, Jim and his dedicated crew continue to treat every client with respect, courtesy, and honesty.

The three on-site master goldsmiths, Jim Johnson, owner; Jose Carpio, who worked in the diamond district of New York before relocating to Central Florida; and Matt Jewell, who worked for Tiffanys as a diamond setter; all provide precise, flawless workmanship with the assistance of Monica who serves as their guiding hand.

The Village Goldsmith will not disappoint regardless of the intrinsic value of the client’s treasure or budget.

Services such as watch battery replacement, jewelry repairs, bead and pearl restringing have been the jeweler’s stock-in-trade these many years; and remounts and modifications remain a welcome challenge. While The Village Goldsmith continues to lead the local market by catering to those individual custom pieces, it has also kept pace with unique retail items and will continue to do so.
