Every day is a Mexican celebration at San Jose Original Mexican Restaurant, located at 4315 S. Highway 27, Clermont.
Usually, the restaurant is filled on May 5, with people searching for the perfect Margarita and delicious authentic Mexican food but, due to the COVID-17 virus restrictions, San Jose’s offered a Stay Home Cinco Celebration! The offer was enthusiastically received by the patrons.
The History of San Jose Original Mexican Restaurant
It all began in the Spring of 2000, when the Salgado Family, with the encouragement of their friends and family, opened the first San Jose’s Mexican Restaurant in Orlando, Florida.
The Salgado Family had a simple vision in mind. To not just open a restaurant serving delicious, made-from-scratch Mexican dishes at everyday prices, but a place where guests of all ages could gather together to experience the unique flavors, along with the art and culture of Mexico – all in a comfortable, casual setting.
For the Salgado Family, cooking had been a passion for many years prior to the opening of San Jose’s. They have fond memories of following their grandmother around the kitchen helping her from the time they were very young. It was those precious moments of learning to cook and finding joy in sharing their favorite dishes with others, that laid the foundation for San Jose’s years later.
Now, nearly two decades later, with six locations across Central Florida, the success of San Jose’s has surpassed the founders’ original dreams.
Each San Jose’s location is committed to using only the freshest, finest ingredients. All dishes are made from the heart and prepared with love as the recipes have been passed down from generations of the Salgado Family.
