We want the world to go back to normal but, it can’t as quickly as we would like.  It makes me think about what it might have been like during the Spanish Flu. Back in 1918, they didn’t have the internet or a Television in their homes.  Just the radio served as their window to the world. Over 500 million people infected and about 50 million died worldwide. There was a shortage of nurses and no vaccines.

Do you know if you had any family that was affected by the influenza of 1918?  If you do a little family history research then you might find out.  The things our family may have gone through like; wars, pandemics, slavery, depression, dustbowl, refugees seeking asylum, oppression, not all of them faced hardships but the history of the world around them may have influenced why they moved from one place to another or why they changed their names and settled where they did.  Learning how to trace your family’s roots can be a rewarding adventure into your own history.
