7-Day COVID Report – Total COVID cases in the state of Florida rose to 698,683 since mid-March and an increase of 13,243 in the past 7 days. The number of hospitalized total 43,469 an increase of 926 cases since Sept. 21 and 14,022 resident deaths, an increase of 705 deaths in the past 7 days.
In Lake County – A total of 7,444 residents tested positive, an increase of 131 in the past 7 days. Total hospitalized in Lake, 575 an increase of 37 in 7 days and Total deaths due to COVID 189, a rise of 20 since the Sept. 21 report.
Seven Day Report in South Lake – Total Cases In South Lake 2,920 cases, an increase of 35 in the past 7 days
Clermont – 1,860 cases (an increase of 29 cases)
Groveland – 508 cases (4 cases)
Mascotte – 230 cases ( 0 cases)
Minneola – 207 cases (0 cases)
Montverde – 115 cases ( 3 cases )
The United States started counting COVID cases in March and the number of cases now total 7,077,329. We have lost 204,486 people due to the virus and many others will have long-term complications due to the virus.
The number of COVID cases in Florida has stabilized over the past month and Gov. DeSantis recently removed Florida’s COVID restrictions which will enable businesses to reopen or conduct business at capacity, including bars and restaurants without state-level restrictions.
Local governments can limit and regulate businesses but won’t be able to close businesses because of the COVID virus.

Hospitalizations:
Today, data reported to the Agency for Health Care Administration shows that the number of COVID-19 positive patients that are currently hospitalized is down more than 70 percent since July. As posted on the Agency for Health Care Administration’s hospitalization dashboard at 11:45 a.m., there are 2,108 current hospitalizations with a primary diagnosis of COVID-19.
Positive test results:
- Yesterday’s statewide positivity rate for new cases is 4.15 percent.
- Yesterday was the forty-fourth straight day below 10 percent positivity of new cases.
Overall testing:
- Yesterday, test results for more than 72,900 individuals were reported to DOH.
- As of September 26, 698,682 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Florida.
Fatalities by date of passing:
Today, data reported to DOH shows there has been a steady decline in the number of reported Florida resident deaths who were previously diagnosed with COVID-19. The second week of August compared to the second week of September, shows a 74 percent decrease in the average number of reported COVID-19 related deaths.

- To date, 5,713 individuals that were staff or residents of a long-term care facility have died.
