Cornerstone Hospice Chaplain Lt. Col. Mark Jurkowski honors a veteran a Superior Residences

Cornerstone Hospice joined community partners to honor veterans during Cornerstone SALUTES! ceremonies on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11. Cornerstone SALUTES! is a comprehensive hospice program respectfully celebrating veterans’ service while providing care that recognizes the challenges unique to military families.

US Army Special Forces Airborne veteran Wayne Griswold was one of 16 veterans honored by Cornerstone Hospice at Superior Residences. Cornerstone Hospice’s Mark Altenberger, an Army veteran, presented Griswold with a certificate and a commemorative pin.

In 2010, Cornerstone Hospice joined the We Honor Veterans program, a national initiative in partnership with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and Veterans Affairs.

Keeping with COVID guidelines, The Cornerstone SALUTES! ceremonies were held outdoors, and honorees and attendees were socially distanced.
