Medicare Plans and Access recently celebrated the grand opening of its newest and second location at Cagan’s Crossing Four Corners in Clermont. The South Lake Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors hosted the ribbon cutting. Numerous local Clermont and South Lake dignitaries were there including Clermont Mayor Tim Murry and South Lake Chamber of Commerce (SLCC) President Dave Colby. Many of the largest Medicare Health Plan and physician practice representatives from Central Florida were also there to celebrate.

Normal Medicare Coverage: By default, the Original Medicare Plan is our federally funded health coverage option provided to qualifying beneficiaries who are 65 years or more or disabled. It consists of Medicare Part A with Hospital Insurance and Part B for Medical Insurance. You can explore additional coverage options that are available in the form of a supplement or a Medicare Advantage — Part C Plan. Original Medicare has a Part B monthly premium with state assistance available for qualifying individuals. There is no premium for taking advantage of Part A unless the individual has worked less than 40 quarters over 10 years. You will find that the MPA staff is friendly, bilingual and knowledgeable in the many aspects of healthcare, state and government policies geared to helping people with Medicare.

Interesting Medicare Notes From MPA: All of the MPA services are at no cost to you. Health insurance agents may be compensated by the health plans upon enrollment. MPA takes pride in its non-biased client-first approach, so there is absolutely no obligation to enroll.  You can enroll up to three months before turning 65 or after your birth month during the Initial Coverage Election Period. Medicare coverage will always begin on the first of the following month of your enrollment. For any new Medicare beneficiaries who enroll during ICEP, coverage begins on the first of the month indicated on your Medicare card. The annual enrollment period is October 15 to December 7. Coverage for enrollments during this time will begin in January of the following year.

If you want to change your plan, the open enrollment period runs from January 1 to March 31. MPA notes, “We want our current and future clients to know we are here to help them find a Medicare health plan that suits their needs.”

The original flagship Clermont location is still based at 231 Citrus Tower Boulevard in Clermont. Orlando Ruiz of MPA noted, “We recognized that the need in Four Corners was too great for us to ignore. Many of our clients with Medicare are disabled or over the age of 65. Transportation is a challenging issue for some of our clients, so we wanted to have a more convenient Medicare Enrollment Center in their local community to help them get what they need faster.” MPA also has offices in Saint Cloud and Ocala, Florida. Expansion with several more Central Florida locations is now being planned.
