Beta Theta President Toni Bell

Beta Theta Educational: Lisa Graham, Beta Theta’s Educational Director introduced education presenters to discuss Women In Arts.  To the delight of all present, member Diann Lovette chose Toni Bell-Rescoe as her favorite artist. Toni is Beta Theta’s president and beloved by many Clermontians who were taught by her in high school. She spent her life helping students realize their dreams. There are many local people who have become famous due to her influence. Among them is Kate DiCamillo, author of “Because of Winn-Dixie”, bestseller, which also became a popular movie.

Ann Dupee remembered

In keeping with President Toni Bell’s theme, “Women In The Arts”, Beta Theta purchased a plaque along the brick walkway in the new art district in downtown Clermont in memory of Ann Dupee, a charter member of Beta Theta, a community leader and a proponent of the arts.  Affectionately known as “Miss Clermont”, everyone loved her, her stories, and her championship support for South Lake County. She always wore a fun hat, flower, costume or fashionable accessories for every season, holiday, and special event. Ann was the former publisher of the South Lake Press and a respected voice for endless community, social and political issues in the Clermont area.

Beta Theta made a donation to the Christmas Across South Lake Organization to help facilitate a goal of 1,000 children receiving toys in the South Lake County Area. The club joined the unified efforts of 30+ nonprofit organizations in the area that have come together to work as one team during this difficult period that we find ourselves facing as a community.

Beta Theta pledge Karen Gelaides proudly displays her jewel pin which she received from her Beta Theta sponsors Janice Senninger and Sandra Martin. She is now a bonafide member of Beta Theta (CONGRATULATIONS KAREN!)
