Trish Kry of Faith Neighborhood Center (FNC) was recognized for the amazing work that FNC has been providing to the Lake community since 1972.  In 2020 they served 2,104,777 pounds of food to 2,364 families in the area. FNC is located on Timber Village Road in Groveland.


FNC provides support to low-income families and individuals in South Lake County– Mascotte, Groveland, Clermont, Minneola, Montverde, and points in between and south to the county line.

Some of the many services offered by FNC:

• Food
• Medical support in conjunction with the South Lake Community Health Center.
• Educational/Training opportunities
• Assistance in applying for food stamps, Medicaid and Emergency Assistance.

Jeff Powell, local architect and owner of Powell Studio Architecture, introduced the guest speaker. Adam Miller of the Coastal Conservation Association- Florida (CCA). Adam has been with the CCA for 10 years and currently serves as their COO. The CCA works with its more than 19,000 members to conserve and enhance marine resources and coastal environments throughout the state. He discussed how members of the South Lake Community have a huge impact on coastal restoration efforts, especially in south Florida. Tuesday, April 20 at 11 a.m. the Chamber will host the webinar “Culture Compasses – How Are You Adding Value?” This session will be led by Nancy Cummings of Cummings Collaborative and Monte Drenner of MTC Counseling.

Monday, April 26 there will be a sunset cruise with Tommy’ Florida. the boat will depart From the Clermont Boat Ramp promptly at 5:30 p.m. and cruise over to Cypress Cove Marina. We are limited to 70 people and registration through our website is required.

Every Monday morning at 9 a.m. the Chamber hosts Coffee with the Chamber on Zoom. This networking call is sponsored by Computer Business Consultants and registration information can be found on the SLCC website.

Every Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m., the Chamber will hold, “Business and Birdies” at Green Valley Country ClubThis networking event kicks off with a networking hour at 4 p.m. and then golf at 5 p.m. The cost is $15.
