Pig on the Pond Community Festival started 23 years ago. From its modest start as a BBQ competition, it has grown to be the biggest outdoor festival in south Lake County and has been voted one of Central Florida’s most popular events.
The festival runs for 3 days, from Friday, Oct. 15 – Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, and takes place at Waterfront Park on the shore of Lake Minneola in Clermont. The family-friendly festival includes entertainment for all ages, a carnival, a Kids Zone, food vendors galore and special activities throughout the weekend. Besides being a fun-filled community event, proceeds from Pig on the Pond go to fund four, 4-year college scholarships for deserving south Lake County students each year.
It is hosted by Project Scholars, a 501c3 nonprofit that provides 4-year college scholarships for South Lake students. Since its inception in 1998, the Pig on the Pond Community Festival has awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships to high school seniors in our community. The success of Pig on the Pond is directly attributed to dedicated community partners, as your financial and volunteer support allows for the mission of the organization to continue. Talent applications are due to Maiken@EventFest.com for consideration no later than June 1. All applications received by June 1 will be reviewed by event management for selection, and you will be notified the following week of your selection status and given instructions for next steps. Applications received after June 1 will be placed on a waiting list.
