Are you looking for something different to do this weekend?  Something close to home, something that won’t break the bank, something that you can combine with other activities.  Well, Clermont’s very own Historic Village is just what you are looking for!

The Village is located at 490 West Avenue, Clermont on the shores of beautiful Lake Minneola adjacent to the walking/biking trail and not far from the shops, restaurants & breweries in downtown.  That way you can enjoy a lovely walk along the trail, stop and have a delicious lunch, visit the Historic Village, and even have time to cap off your day with a relaxing drink with friends.

And the Village is exceptionally affordable.  Visitors 12 and above are asked to make a donation of $5.00.  There is no set admission fee.  Docents are on hand to provide guided tours, or you can tour the buildings at your own pace and the docents will be happy to answer any questions you may have.  The Historical Society opens all the buildings in the Village to the public every weekend from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.

If you are interested in the history of Clermont in particular, or in history in general, why not consider joining the Clermont Historical Society?  Membership is just $25.00 per person or $35.00 for a couple annually.  The Historical Society holds monthly meetings on the second Monday of each month.  The board meeting (open to the public) begins at 6:00 PM and is followed by a presentation at 7:00 PM.  Our next meeting will be held on September 13th in the Depot.

You can also see lots of pictures and information about the Village on our Facebook page and on our website at www.clermonthistoricvillage.org.     For questions or further information please call 352-242-7734.
