The Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation (GCCF), a 501c3 organization, provides free aid and support to community needs-based cancer patients, their immediate families and caregivers in the greater Clermont and surrounding areas. Its mission is to create a less stressful and more purposeful day-to-day life and family experience for area patients, by providing limited financial aid and support focused on reducing the day-to-day stresses that Cancer has on patients, their families and caregivers.

On Saturday, April 2, the community came together to help raise money for the very worthy cause. Though it was a rainy evening, the Clermont Performing Arts Center was filled to capacity with those who wanted to support the GCCF event.  Sure, it was raining but that didn’t stop everyone from having a fun evening and giving what they could to Bras for the Cause.

Savory, sweet treats and beverage delights were provided by local restauranteers, shops and breweries. Eileen Scates and Billy Flanigan were the Masters of Ceremony and welcoming remarks were given by Marie Howd.

Sixteen Bra/Boxers were specially designed and modeled by local, South Lake Talent. Everyone at the event had a favorite bra, boxer and or/model thus the bidding ran high. “Shades of Black”, designed by Cassidy Gray Crenshaw and modeled by Holly Higdon Nichols and Jason Pearson was bought for $10,000, which was the highest bid of the night.

The evening was filled with excitement, caring, and lots of money raised for GCCF, a very worthy cause.
