In honor of National Public Safety Telecommunications Week (April 10-16), Kroger Delivery provided a wide variety of frozen individual meals and ice cream treats to stock the freezers in the Lake County Emergency Management Department to recognize the hard work and dedication of local 911 dispatchers, who handle all 911 calls from Lake County citizens in distress and in need of assistance.
“The Public Safety/Emergency Telecommunicators of Lake County are highly-trained public safety professionals whose role in emergency situations is easily overlooked and under-appreciated,” said Richard Keith, Tavares Fire Chief. “These professionals, the first line of contact for every Lake County 9-1-1 call, answer calls and dispatch emergency resources throughout the county 24-7 for 365 days a year. They operate in a high-stress position and are phenomenal at assisting citizens. At any given moment, they could be providing CPR instructions over the phone, taking calls about a house on fire or a crime in progress, or assisting a frantic parent whose child is missing. Those of us in emergency services who rely on Lake County Public Safety Telecommunicators to keep us moving to assist others are grateful for their work, and we greatly appreciate Kroger Delivery for helping us thank them.”
