United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties (UWLS) has appointed Helen G. Sneed, Principal Partner of Drive The Goal, LLC, to serve as interim CEO.
Sneed will work with the UWLS Executive Leadership and staff to design a senior management talent search for a highly-skilled, full-time successor.
Sneed’s appointment follows the departure of Monica Wofford to pursue new opportunities.

Sneed brings deep expertise across the nonprofit sector and corporate America as a strategic human resources business partner. Sneed has experience consulting for small, medium, and large organizations throughout the US.
Sneed also serves as the Board of Directors President for the CT State Colleges & Universities Foundation. She is a mentor with Take Stock in Children (TSIC) and a member of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce and South Lake Business Leaders. Her past roles include Executive Director for the Tunxis Community College Foundation. Sneed was recognized in 2018 as Connecticut and Massachusetts 100 Women of Color class Valedictorian for her service to the community.
