A Movie Review By Anthony Ritter

The next Marvel movie has arrived and the hype for this movie has been massive. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the much-awaited sequel to the 2018 film Black Panther. Since the original film, Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman sadly passed away after heroically battling cancer. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever starts off with the characters mourning the loss of King T’Challa (Boseman). As the story progresses, Wakanda must adjust to not having their Black Panther while a new enemy threatens them.

What follows is The Good, The Bad, and The Spoilers (NO SPOILERS THIS TIME) of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The Good

As stated above, I’m going to do my best to avoid any spoilers in this one, so I’ll just hit a couple key points.

One major question many people had was how is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever going to address the death of Chadwick Boseman. This film does a beautiful job paying tribute to Boseman while not taking away from the overall plot of the movie. If you tend to be more emotional, be prepared to shed a tear.

The character Namor (Tenoch Huerta) was one of the highlights of the film. Tenoch Huerta was phenomenal in the role and his backstory is explained well and in a way that makes audiences sympathize with him.

The Bad

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is another long movie at just under 2 hours and 45 minutes. While I felt the pacing of the movie was done right, there are parts of the movie that could have been taken out to make this movie just a bit shorter.

With all marvel movies, audiences have begun to look forward to the big reveals at the mid- and post-credit scenes. In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever audiences are only given a mid-credit scene to give characters some closure and there is no post-credit scene. It was like finishing a great meal excited for dessert, only to find out there is none.

My Overall Opinion

I felt the original Black Panther did not meet my expectations.  Black Panther: Wakanda Forever lives up to all the hype in my opinion. It kept me entertained for the entire 2 hours and 45 minutes, and I look forward to seeing it again in theaters. I highly recommend seeing this one on the big screen!
