The members of CWC started the new year by learning about “the special things” hospice provides to their patients.  Cheryl Rumbly, Cornerstone’s Community Liaison,  shared stories of the “above and beyond” things that Cornerstone does for its patients.  A few of us needed tissues to dry our eyes after hearing her heartwarming stories.  Sandy Acht, the Volunteer Coordinator, spoke about the bears made for the children from family members’ clothing and the quilts made for the veterans and presented to them when they do their Veteran’s Salute.  She also talked about their Pets Peace of Mind Program which helps care for patients’ pets.  Sandy also reviewed the many volunteer opportunities available.
