Chartered on January 28, 1926, the Kiwanis Club of Clermont remains an active and vibrant club in the South Lake community. It is one the oldest and most active service organizations in Lake County.

For the past 96 years, it has continued to support the South Lake Community in many ways, including six high school Key Clubs, six elementary school Terrific Kid programs, two Bringing Up Grades (BUG) programs, three elementary school K-Kid programs, three middle school Builders Club programs and an adult Aktion Club at Building Blocks Ministries.

They sponsor Prayer Breakfasts, conduct American Flag placements at Oak Hill Cemetery to honor veterans, and construct and display the Light Up Center Lake Christmas exhibit in downtown Clermont.

The club partners with many non-profits including Miracle League, Building Block Ministries, DreamPlex, Neighborhood Center of South Lake, Hands of Hope, Read to Sydney and Girl Scout Troop 3040.

The club also participates in many “Young Children Priority One” projects such as the volunteer reading series at the Head Start Program and the Read to Sydney program in Clermont

Chuck Seaver, the club’s president notes, “We are honored to support and partner with many non-profit organizations in the South Lake Community and look forward to the next ninety-seven years of service!”
