Come and join the Friends Of Lake Apopka for a ride around Lake Apopka using Lake County and Orange County paved trails, gravel roads, and paved roads. The ride starts at either the Winter Garden Pavillion (40 mile) or Magnolia Park on the eastern shore of Lake Apopka. The 40 mile ride is a combination of paved and gravel roads. The shorter 8, 16, and 34-mile rides starting at Magnolia Park are on unpaved roads only. Riders looking for more challenge can add Sugarloaf Mountain as the route connects with Sugarloaf Mountain Road. The shorter rides will take riders through the flat, sprawling preserve land of the Lake Apopka North Shore Nature Preserve which includes the Lake Apopka Nature Drive. The North Shore is home to one of the premier bird-watching and wildlife-spotting opportunities in central Florida. The rides start at 8:30 AM from both locations though early arrival and pre-registration are encouraged. Registration closes on April 15 at: https://www.bikereg.com/6th-annual-fola-40
