Read to the Dogs
Be a “Reader of the Pack” at the Minneola Schoolhouse Library. All ages are invited to join the PAWS Therapy Dogs every first Tuesday of the month from 4:30-5:30 pm. Drop in anytime during that hour, our next dates are April 3, May 1 and June 5.
Children, teens and adults can hang out, pet and read a book with these trained therapy pups. Kids’ reading skills can be strengthened and reading confidence increased during this fun literacy time with these wonderful dogs and their handlers.
Spring Crafts for Kids
Hop on over to the Minneola Schoolhouse Library for Spring Crafts for Kids. Children of all ages can drop by, get crafty and messy and have fun.
This program is FREE and ongoing. Join us for kids’ crafts every second Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. All children are welcome, but kids under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a caregiver age 16 or older.

OPERA @ THE LIBRARY PRESENTS MARCH 2018 OPERA PROGRAM
Idomeneo, re di Creta (Idomeneo, King of Crete) by Mozart
The Friends of the Cooper Memorial Library will host Opera @ the Library, presenting W.A. Mozart’s opera Idomeneo, re di Creta (Idomeneo, King of Crete). This event will be held on March 26, at 1:45 pm in Room 108B of the library building.
Mozart’s Idomeneo is a lyrical tragedy and is considered Mozart’s greatest choral opera. It is composed in the baroque tradition of the opera seria, however, Mozart excels at giving it new traits and forms. This is a free program with English subtitles and we hope to enhance your knowledge and appreciation of this beautiful art form.

A NATIONAL POETRY MONTH PRESENTATION AT THE COOPER MEMORIAL LIBRARY
Ann Browning Masters, Ph.D., will read poetry of St. Augustine
The Friends of the Cooper Memorial Library will host Ann Browning Masters, Ph.D, on Thursday, April 5, from 10 am to 12 pm in Room 108 of the library building. Ann captures the history of St. Augustine through poetry in her book Floridanos, Menorcans, Cattle- Whip Crackers: Poetry of St Augustine. Her poetry has been published in anthologies and journals, read at history and literary conferences, and recorded for the Florida State Historical Archives. This is a free program and everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

OPERA @ THE LIBRARY PRESENTS SPECIAL EVENT BALLET PROGRAM
La Bayadere (The Temple Dancer)
The Friends of the Cooper Memorial Library will host a special event showing of the ballet La Bayadere (The Temple Dancer) on of the library building.
La Bayadère is a ballet, originally staged in four acts and seven tableaux by French choreographer Marius Petipa to the music of Ludwig Minkus. La Bayadère was first presented by the Imperial Ballet at the Imperial Bolshoi Kamenny Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia, on 4 February 1877.
This is a free program and we hope to enhance your knowledge and appreciation of this beautiful art form. Light refreshments will be provided during the intermission for our guests.

Mary Edwards of Couponers United will be here at the Cooper Memorial Library to give a free informative coupon class on Wednesday, April 18th, from 10 am to 12 pm, in Room 108B of the library building.
Mary Edwards is the owner of the Couponers United website. She lives in Central Florida with her husband and four young children. One of the Master Gardeners from the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences department will show you how in this one-hour lecture. This presentation will be held on Tuesday, April 24th, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm in Room 108 of the library building.
