Sylvia Barto, a past president of the Clermont Woman’s Club, attended the December meeting of the Clermont Historical Society and made a generous donation on behalf of the Woman’s Club. Every year, the members of the Woman’s Club donate countless hours of their time to fundraising so that the club can make donations to various non-profit organizations in the Clermont area. The Clermont Historical Society is honored to be one of these organizations.
Together with the City of Clermont, the Historical Society maintains the Historic Village Museum. The Village is home to six buildings that are open to the public on Fridays and on weekends. Tours of the buildings are free however, a donation of $3.00 per person is requested. Visitors from all over the state, our nation, and the world have come to see what life was like in Central Florida from the late 1800s until just after World War II. Come to the Village any Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm or any Saturday or Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and add your name to the guest book.
The Village is conveniently located at 490 West Ave. on the shores of beautiful Lake Minneola, not far from the city’s Historic Downtown Shopping District. Some holiday shopping, a nice lunch and a walk down memory lane at the Historic Village is the perfect way to spend an afternoon and enjoy the beautiful weather we have been experiencing.

The meetings are held on the second Monday of the month in the Train Depot at the Historic Village. The board meetings (open to the public) are at 6:00 pm followed by a presentation at 7:00 pm. The next meeting will be on January 13th.
