Darren Gray, Clermont’s award-winning City Manager, will be the featured speaker at the February 10th meeting of the Clermont Historical Society. The meeting will be held in the Train Depot in the Historic Village and will begin at 6:00 pm with the board meeting followed at 7:00 pm by Darren’s presentation. The public is welcome to attend both the board meeting and the presentation. Anyone who has heard Darren speak about the future of Clermont knows how excited and animated he can become so it should be an interesting evening.
The Historic Village is located at 490 West Avenue on the shores of beautiful Lake Minneola not far from the city’s historic downtown shopping district and is home to two houses, the original Cooper Memorial Library, a 1920’s train depot, a WWII Quonset hut, and two replicas. All the buildings are open to the public free of charge every Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and every Saturday & Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. A small donation of $3.00 per person is requested.
