As you likely know, Hurricane Ian will impact us later this week. Specific details of the storm track and severity continue to change.

The City of Clermont has been and will continue to monitor the situation. Our Fire, Police and Public Services departments are all preparing for the impact. We are also working closely with Lake County and state officials.

Garbage collection remains on schedule for Tuesday, Sept. 27 and sandbags will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at West Park Ballfields, 658 12th Street. If you live in a low area, please consider an evacuation plan. Lake County is scheduled to open shelters Tuesday afternoon.

Clermont Parks will be closed and all recreation programs have been cancelled Wednesday, Sept. 28 through Friday, Sept. 30.

All city recreation programs will be canceled for the entirety of the day Wed. Sept. 28, Thurs. Sept. 29, and Fri. Sept.30. These programs include those at the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center and Kehlor Recreation Center. All recreation programs at city facilities are canceled for the day.

This is an evolving situation, so please check back for updates on the City of Clermont Facebook page or on the city’s weather webpage, www.ClermontFL.gov/weather.

Thank you for your understanding as we look out for our community’s safety.

We encourage you to complete you preparation as soon as possible and stay safe!

Sincerely,

City of Clermont
