On Saturday, February 24th from 9 am to 1 pm, the Friends of Lake Louisa State Park will be hosting their 3rd annual Poochapalooza, a day to celebrate and enjoy our canine companions.  This is a free event included in your park admission fee and will be held near the main parking area near the beach of Lake Louisa.

Bring your canine companion for a fun hike with obstacles for dogs of all abilities.  There will also be a variety of vendors and exhibitors in attendance at Poochapalooza.  You can purchase your pup some treats, meet your new vet, groomer, or dog walker, get some professional photos taken with you and your pup, buy some jewelry and other items, learn about some great canine organizations, or even meet your newest family member!

Visitors to Poochapalooza can also purchase tickets for a prize drawing for many wonderful prizes. Friends of Lake Louisa State Park merchandise, including ball caps, t-shirts, and tumblers will also be available for sale. You can also purchase a sweet treat from Mister Softee and some delicious barbecue from D & N BBQ.

All proceeds from Poochapalooza go directly towards park improvements and community outreach.  Check out the ADA accessible playground on the beach that was made possible by park events sponsored by the Friends of Lake Louisa State Park, a 501(c)3 organization.  The Friends are currently raising funds to construct an education/nature center and pavilion.  All donations to the Friends are greatly appreciated.

All dogs visiting Poochapalooza must remain on a 6-foot or shorter leash and must remain under handler control.  All dogs must also be up to date on vaccinations and handlers are required to clean up and properly dispose of their dogs’ waste.
